We are a broker, not an insurer
We arrange warranties and non-structural cover for HMOs on your behalf with a limited number of specialist warranty providers, managing general agents and insurers. We do not provide insurance ourselves and we do not underwrite anything. Your quotation names the provider and the insurer that carries the risk, and your policy documents are issued by them.
Non-advised
We work on a non-advised basis. We find providers likely to cover your HMO and give you the information you need to make your own choice - the quotation, the Insurance Product Information Document and the policy wording - but we do not recommend a particular policy. Before any cover is arranged we give you our terms of business and confirm your demands and needs in writing.
How we are paid
We are paid commission by the provider, which is a percentage of the insurance premium. For HMO cover we also charge a broker fee for arranging it. Our modest broker fee is only charged on success - if we do not arrange your cover, you pay us nothing. Both are shown on your quotation before you commit, and if you ask, we will tell you in writing the commission we receive.
Your money
Everything you pay for your cover - the premium, insurance premium tax and the fees on your quotation - is paid directly to the provider as shown on its invoice. We do not collect or hold your money.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, please tell us and we will do our best to put it right. Our complaints procedure explains each step, the timescales and when you may be able to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
